Curious Refuge Workshops: How to Build a Portfolio with Karin Suvaryan

Curious Refuge Workshops are 1-hour live sessions designed to give you deeper insight into industry workflows, cutting-edge tools, and real creator experiences.

A great portfolio isn't just a collection of your best work — it's an argument for why someone should hire you. This lesson walks through how to build one with intention, from the first decisions about what to include to the details that make it feel cohesive, considered, and distinctly yours.

Karin Suvaryan is a multidisciplinary creative who’s explored graphic design, UX/UI, and music before landing in a role that feels most natural: acting as an art director using AI as a creative medium. Rather than using AI to generate ideas, she uses it to direct, shaping worlds through intention, systems, and visual judgment. Her work sits at the intersection of storytelling, design, and emerging tools—focused on making things that feel coherent, grounded, and real.
