AI Film News | May 10th, 2024

Here is a breakdown of the AI Film News from the video.

AI on the Lot - This is one of our favorite events of the year. If you are in LA on May 16th, we highly recommend checking out this event. There will be so many phenomenal speakers and workshops. Use the code ‘CURIOUS’ for 20% off your ticket

AI Film Trailer Competition - We are less than one month away from the submission deadline for the AI Film Trailer competition sponsored by Curious Refuge and SubMachine. If you haven't started, it's not too late. Check out the rules and get to work!

Learn AI Filmmaking - The waitlist is officially open for the June session of AI Filmmaking. Maybe you aren't quite ready to create a trailer for the film competition; if that's the case, then this could be the perfect opportunity for you.

Shelby Spoke at CogX - Shelby spoke at CogX the other night and did a spectacular job. We also got to chat with Paul Trillo and our good friend Dave. It was a blast!

Ukraine is Utilizing AI Actors - Ukraine has unveiled an AI-generated spokeswoman for its Foreign Ministry. This is one of the first instances where we have seen AI actors being integrated on a big platform such as this.

Learn AI Advertising - Have you wondered how AI is transforming the advertising industry? Well, look no further. Spend the beginning of your summer learning the latest techniques for AI advertising and commercial production. Join the waitlist now.

Elevenlabs Music - Elevenlabs has always been probably the best tool when it comes to AI-generated speech of every kind. Recently they delved into the world of sound FX, and now they are hopping into the world of AI-generated music. We cannot wait.

Udio’s Inpainting - You've heard of inpainting when it comes to image generators, but now you have inpainting for Udio. Udio is quickly taking the spot as the greatest AI music generator on the market.

GPT-4 Is the Dumbest AI You’ll Have to Use - In a recent interview, Sam Altman promised future models will far surpass the current, indicating that GPT-4 is only a stepping stone to more sophisticated AI models.

Claude is Now on iOS - Claude is a known competitor to ChatGPT. A lot of people think it performs better actually, but ChatGPT's accessibility tends to make it a better option for most people. Now that Claude offers an iOS app, that may change.

Cuupid - Check out this spectacular tool that allows you to change the clothes in an image almost seamlessly. The output of these images is probably the best we have seen yet.

Will AI Make Google Obsolete? - We don't have much information, but it looks like OpenAI may be working on some type of ChatGPT search, similar to what Google search is now. This begs the question, will Google soon become the second preferred search engine?

The First SORA Music Video - Paul Trillo is at it again with yet another spectacular creation. This is the first commercial AI music video created using SORA. As always, great work, Paul!

New SORA Feature - Even though we still do not have access to SORA (and have no idea when we will), OpenAI just released a feature update that is basically video subject replacement. The examples look pretty good, but we won't know for sure until we get our hands on the tool.

Simulon - Simulon has gotten a lot of attention recently. Simulon basically turns your phone into a virtual production camera. VFX for your film is getting easier and easier it seems.

OpenVoice V2 - This past week we came across a new voice generation tool called OpenVoice V2. We haven't spent much time with it, but the demos are pretty phenomenal.

Spotify Translate - Spotify has launched an AI tool for translating podcasts. This could eliminate the language barrier and allow people all over the world to listen to podcasts from across the globe.

New Relighting Tool - Here is a new relighting tool that honestly does a spectacular job. Check it out.

Midjourney Alpha Access - Access to Midjourney's Alpha site is now available to everyone who has generated at least 100 images. They also released a new feature called ‘rooms’ for collaboration. It feels ironically similar to Discord.

Pika Labs Style - Pika Labs recently introduced a new style feature, allowing users to select from different artistic styles for their generations. We tested it out; while they weren't all the greatest, the anime style impressed us the most.

ChatGPT Classifier - OpenAI has released a ChatGPT classifier tool striving to identify Dall-E generated images. It can identify content created with Dalle with about 95% accuracy even if you change the image. When you add grain, the accuracy goes down to about 35%.

AI Randy Travis - In 2013 Randy Travis suffered a stroke, leaving him barely able to speak or sing today. With the power of AI, Travis' team was able to recreate his voice. They were very pleased to show people how AI can be used in such a powerful way like this.

AI Fashion - OpenAI and the Met Gala got together to create an AI Chat Bot of Natalie Potter. It was such a cool collaboration of the AI and fashion worlds.

FreePik + Magnific - FreePik is joining forces with Magnific to enhance its capabilities. We haven't been crazy about FreePik, but Magnific is without a doubt one of our favorite AI tools. We are very excited to see what comes of this.

Krea AI Video - Alright, Krea's video generator is now out. How do you feel about it? We are excited to begin experimenting with it to see how it ranks against the other AI video generators.
