Create a compelling horror/Halloween-themed film that leverages the power of artificial intelligence.

1. AI-Generated Visuals:

Mandatory Use of AI: Every shot in the submission must be generated using AI. The AI can be used to create, manipulate, or enhance the visual elements of the film.
Subject Replacement Tools: Tools like Wonder Studio may be used to generate character movements and replace the subject. But the majority of the frame must be AI-generated.
Core Visuals: The underlying core visuals and composition of the project must be generated or altered by AI, even when using live-action or digitally produced assets to assist the production.
Disputes: In case your skills are too good… Curious Refuge has the right to request proof of AI generation. Failure to produce proof may result in your submission being disqualified.

2. Sound:

ElevenLabs Voice Requirement: Include a voice generated by ElevenLabs in some capacity. It can be used in various creative roles such as characters, narrators, or any audible expression in the film. You can use the code CURIOUSELEVEN at checkout at ElevenLabs to get 100% off your first month. Note: This option only works for the Starter, Creator, and Independent Publisher plans. You must be a first-time subscriber to get the discount.
Music and Sound Effects: Royalty-free, non-AI music, and sound effects are allowed to enhance the audio landscape of your film.

3. Length and Quantity:

Maximum Duration: Your film submission must not exceed a duration of 3 minutes. We recommend a minimum of 30 seconds in length.
Quantity: You may enter the contest with as many films as possible.

4. Genre & Collaboration:

Thematic Requirement: The project must fall within the genre of Horror or Halloween. It is not mandatory for the film to be scary, as long as you creatively explore the horror or Halloween theme.
Collaboration: You may collaborate with others to create the film.

5. Submission:

Deadline: All projects must be submitted by October 20th at 11 AM PST.
Submission Method: Ensure your project is submitted on time to be considered for the contest.

6. Evaluation:

Judging: Submissions will be evaluated based on creativity, adherence to the AI usage requirements, creativity, uniqueness, consistency, and overall film impact. Essentially, we’re looking for awesome films showcasing your AI storyteller skills. Make us say ‘Wow’.
Audience Favorite Award: The audience favorite will be determined by the number of votes received on the submissions page. You can only vote one time per IP address. The Curious Refuge team will monitor the integrity of the audience votes. If we feel there has been any manipulation of votes, the submission will be thrown out.
Awards: Details regarding prizes or recognition will be disclosed at a later date.

8. Sharing

You are encouraged to share your film online on social media channels, YouTube, etc.
Be sure to tag Curious Refuge and Elevenlabs in your post.
Use the hashtag #HallAIween so we can find your submission.

9. Mandatory Title Card

Your film must conclude with this title card. (Link to Title Card)
The title card must be on screen for at least 3 seconds.
You can have video footage playing behind the title card.
You can transition to the card in any way you want (fades, dissolves, motivated actions, etc.)
The title card is in a 4K resolution format. Be sure to scale it down to HD if you submit a 1080p project.
