Below are some of the latest and most interesting AI Film News headlines from the past couple of weeks.

1. Runway Aleph 2.0

Instead of generating new clips from scratch, Aleph 2.0 edits existing footage with frame-to-video consistency, targeted object isolation, multi-shot edit tracking, and clips up to 30 seconds at 1080p.

In the example below, we prompted for an Alien ship being added to the reference video.

Seedance Omni

Edit Studio now lets you preview an edit before spending compute on the full render.

Omni models are better in our opinion, but it’s super interesting to see how Alephe performs some of the tasks.

2. Eleven Labs Music v2

A major upgrade to their music generation tool with better vocals, instrumentation, and arrangement across genres, plus new multilingual support.

Eleven Music 2
Suno

We compared it to Suno and felt like it was pretty close. The thing that gives Eleenlabs the upper hand is the fact that it’s trained on copyright-free music.

3. New Curious Refuge Development Program

We are pumped to announce the launch of the DEV Program alongside Promise Studios.

Submissions are open for our first series (Adult Animated Comedy Series pitch track) and is live through July 10th, and the first round of DNA Program artists has been accepted into the exclusive AI artist network.

4. LUMINA Theatrical Program

A new distribution program from P.J. Official is giving AI filmmakers a real theatrical home.

Independent theaters pay a flat monthly fee, keep 100% of ticket/concession revenue, and the program includes built-in compliance for EU AI Act and FTC disclosure rules.

Filmmakers retain non-exclusive rights, though upside if a film does well is limited.

5. YouTube's New AI Labels

YouTube just announced that it will begin automatically labeling AI-generated content on its platform. Long-form videos now get an AI-generated label below the player; Shorts get an overlay label. Unrealistic or altered content gets disclosed in the expanded description.

6. Project Eden (VAST AI Research)

Project Eden is a new "world model" that maintains a persistent 3D simulation rather than just predicting pixels, supporting native multiplayer interaction in synced environments.

Compared to Marble by World Labs (better for static, high-fidelity 3D scenes), Eden is built for dynamic, multi-agent, physics-driven worlds.

7. Seedance 2.0 + GPT-Image-2 Camera Path Workflow

We’ve been seeing this workflow online and have been pretty skeptical about it, but thought we had to give it a shot.

Reference Image

A new technique where you draw a camera path on a reference image and prompt the model to follow it, demoed with a drone flyover of the Washington Monument.

8. Omni First/Last Frame Story Workflow

This workflow is as close to prompt to film as we are. This is pretty funny.

Using Google Omni to chain video generations together by feeding the last frame as the next clip's first frame, with prompts that continue and eventually resolve a story (demoed with a man trapped in a Bosch painting and a snowy-forest Yeti encounter).

9. Google Omni’s Free Tier

Google Flow just got an update. It is now free for everyone (two videos/day for non-subscribers).

It’s not a lot, but better than nothing for those wanting to test the tool for themselves!

10. Gemini Omni Prompting Guide

Google published "The Ultimate Prompting Guide" for Omni, worth a read for anyone using the tool.

11. Legacy Directors Embrace AI

Martin Scorsese is now an advisor at Black Forest Labs, using FLUX for storyboarding, while James Cameron advises Stable Diffusion.

12. Microsoft's New Models

Microsoft launched seven new models, including MAI-Image-2.5, which it claims ranks #2 on AI Arena.

Here’s the prompt for the image above: Medium shot of a 1985 Macintosh computer sitting on a bedroom computer desk. On the screen we see a side scrolling video game being played in a small window on the computer desktop. At the top of the computer desktop is the apple task bar.

Demos showed strong object/scene edits like changing a truck's color or swapping a wizard for a fire-breathing dragon.

13. Rev v2.0 Image Model

A new release claiming to be the best 4K image model available, with Arena results said to beat Nano Banana 2.

Nano Banana 2

Here’s the prompt for the images above: a high cinematic wide-shot of a common person from the 15th century standing on a dock over a lake. The man is facing the camera and the camera is positioned over the water facing towards the man and the dock. The man and the dock are centered in frame. The time of day is dusk and it is very foggy. The man is holding a lantern up over the water as he looks in the water. We see several spots of glowing blue light coming from in the water. Cinematic lighting and color grading.

14. Seedance 2.0 Omni Light Projection Workflow

Here’s a cool technique using Seedance with a blank music video file to create a projected light show on a building.

Test it out and let us know if its worth it or all hype!

15. Luma Ray 3.2

Luma's new flagship model adds up to 16 keyframes per clip for precise pacing and camera control, an upgraded Modify Video V2 engine (20-second 1080p inputs), and VFX-ready 16-bit EXR exports in ACES2065-1 color space.

16. Claude Fable 5

Anthropic introduced a Mythos-class model made safe for general use, with capabilities beyond any previous public release.

We have been seeing a massive amount of content surrounding Fable 5 and cannot wait to explore this more.

17. Community Events

We have had some phenomenal community events recently.

One was a short film review from former DreamWorks VP of Development Beth Cannon, another a "Vibe Coding a Portfolio" session, as well as an AI Animation 2.0 Q&A with Albert Bozesan. If you are a student you can rewatch these in the portal.

here are a few events omcin up next:
